Life is Beautiful Movie Review
Life is Beautiful is about this family, a mother name Dora, a father named Guido, and a little boy their son named Giosue, and they lived during the Holocaust. So one day the German soldiers went to their house and they took them to a concentration camp. Something that surprised about the movie was that Guido made the situation a lot happier than it was for his son. He made the a really bad situation a better for his son so that he wouldn’t know that he was actually happening like the fact that they could die. A question that I have is is this a true story and if it is then how do they know like what happened.

Wonder Book Blog
The book I read was Wonder by R.J.Palacio, a children's literature book. I love this book and its message, it had some really happy parts but it also had some sad parts but it is a great book. This book is about this kid named, August Pullman, who has some facial abnormalities, he was home schooled for his whole life because he had so many surgeries and also because he was afraid of all the stares and comments he would get from the student but one day his parents suggested that he should start going to school for fifth grade because there will be a lot of new kids - which he is dreading. Auggie knows that he will be treated differently from the other kids but he just wants to be treated like an ordinary kid. At school he tries fitting in and convincing people that he isn't that much different from other people, and he meets two people - Summer and Jack - the only people that were his friend and didn't make fun of him.
How would you react to someone different from you? Would it be hard for you or do you think it would be able to adjust to the person?
My favorite part of the book was when Auggie and Jack are in danger the people that have been treating Auggie badly and the ones protecting him and his friend, and they become friend afterwards. I love this part because at first they didn't like Auggie but then they realize that he really isn't that different from everyone else. I also love this part because I think it could be the theme that you shouldn't judge people on how they look.

What Light Book Blog
I read a fiction book called, What Light it by Jay Asher. I think that is a really good book, its about this girl Sierra, who lives in Oregon, and every year in the winter she goes to California for about a month, to sell trees in the lot that her family owns for Christmas. But her parents think that it might be their last time going because there hasn't been a lot of business. So while she is selling a tree she sees this kid named Caleb, who she thinks is cute, so she asked a friend about him and she told her that he made a big mistake when he was younger, and that she should just try to stay away. But she tries to get to know him anyway, and she learns that he is a good guy so they start hanging out and people start judging Sierra. She doesn't really care and she gives him another chance to prove to people that he is a good guy and not the guy that people think he is.
My favorite part of the book was when Sierra gave Caleb a second chance, I love this part because it’s something that a lot of people don’t really do but she did and I think it’s just really nice. Would you give someone a second chance if they've done something bad?

#OneWord2018
My one word this year is hope/hopeful
I chose hope as my one word because my New Years resolution is to not give up and try not to doubt as much so I need to give myself some hope and some positivity. Specially in gymnastics because sometimes I have trouble doing something and I might give up, so I have to give myself hope. I will use this word in my life by giving myself hope and positivity and by living this word I will try to stop doubting myself. Some steps I will take are not giving up so quickly and checking up with myself, making sure that I am actually using this word.

The Outsiders
Book to Movie Comparison
I think the The Outsiders did not stay true to the novel because there was little things that were different but there were some part there weren't there and the were very different. One of the parts that were missing was that they didn't show the part where they were in court. Also other parts some more important than others. I think the characters/actors did an okay job but they left out the part where Ponyboy realizes what Johnny was saying in the note that there is a lot of hate and that there are many people that judge people from hoods. I think this a good message because it's true and I am glad that Ponyboy realizes this. But there were similar parts like when Johnny killed Bob and they asked Dally for help and when they went to the church in the country. Also when they saved those kids from the burning building and before the rumble when Randy and Ponyboy were talking.
Love & Gelato Book Review
The book Love & Gelato is a really good book, it is about this girl, her name is Carolina but everyone calls her Lina. Her mom dies and she promised her that she would go to Italy for the summer and stay with her father, Howard. When she got to his place she so surprised that she would have to live in a cemetery for the whole summer, all she wanted to do was just leave as soon as possible. But when she just get there she recived a journal that was her mother’s. She goes outside to run and clear her head and she sees this kid, Ren. They start talking and they become friends they do everything together.
In the journal she found out secrets about her mom when she first got to Italy. When she starts reading the book and she starts going to places where her mom has been, then as she starts reading more she see that her mom had a secret boyfriend. She tells Ren about the journal and he goes with her and he helps her find places where her mom has been. So Lina goes to her moms old school and contacts one her moms best friends and she tells Lina who that secret person is. Lina and Ren, go find the mystery person. When they find him, he recognizes her and Lina tells him about the journal and that didn't end well, after their conversation she starts crying because of what the mystery person said about her mom. At the end of the book Lina falls in love with someone.
