The Outsiders

Book to Movie Comparison

I think the The Outsiders did not stay true to the novel because there was little things that were different but there were some part there weren't there and the were very different. One of the parts that were missing was that they didn't show the part where they were in court. Also other parts some more important than others. I think the characters/actors did an okay job but they left out the part where Ponyboy realizes what Johnny was saying in the note that there is a lot of hate and that there are many people that judge people from hoods. I think this a good message because it's true and I am glad that Ponyboy realizes this. But there were similar parts like when Johnny killed Bob and they asked Dally for help and when they went to the church in the country. Also when they saved those kids from the burning building and before the rumble when Randy and Ponyboy were talking.

Love & Gelato Book Review

The book Love & Gelato is a really good book, it is about this girl, her name is Carolina but everyone calls her Lina. Her mom dies and she promised her that she would go to Italy for the summer and stay with her father, Howard. When she got to his place she so surprised that she would have to live in a cemetery for the whole summer, all she wanted to do was just leave as soon as possible. But when she just get there she recived a journal that was her mother’s. She goes outside to run and clear her head and she sees this kid, Ren. They start talking and they become friends they do everything together.

In the journal she found out secrets about her mom when she first got to Italy. When she starts reading the book and she starts going to places where her mom has been, then as she starts reading more she see that her mom had a secret boyfriend. She tells Ren about the journal and he goes with her and he helps her find places where her mom has been. So Lina goes to her moms old school and contacts one her moms best friends and she tells Lina who that secret person is. Lina and Ren, go find the mystery person. When they find him, he recognizes her and Lina tells him about the journal and that didn't end well, after their conversation she starts crying because of what the mystery person said about her mom. At the end of the book Lina falls in love with someone.

The Importance of my Dog

Something that is very important to me is my dog, we rescued her from a dog shelter five years ago. We got her when I was eight years old and she was 1, she is now six years old, and when we got her they told us that it was a good choice because the next day they were gonna euthanize her so we were really happy to save her. She is also a really good comforter because she is really playful so she makes you feel better if you aren't.

Fault In Our Stars Book Review

Book review of the Fault in Our Stars...

This book is really good, it is kind of sad, I’ve read the book and I’ve since the movie but I still can’t decide which is better they are both really good though. But in the book there is a poem that I’ve read before it is call “Nothing Gold Can Stay” personally I think that the theme is that nothing gold can stay because in the book Hazel loses Gus her love of her life meaning that most things don’t last forever and you shouldn’t take things for granted. Also I didn't get why Gus had to die because everyone thought that he would get better and that he could beat cancer but ends up dying and it is just sad for everyone specially because it was very unexpected. Since it was so unexpected Hazel was even more devastated.

First Quarter So Far

Friday is the last day of the quarter and so far I think the quarter has gone pretty well, classes are great I especially love my ELA class my teacher is so enthusiastic and I love her, my other classes are great too though. My grades are pretty good I know that could do better but next quarter I hope I will do better. Something I could do better for next quarter is if I miss a day or leave school early I could ask my treachery’s what I missed, and if I do get a grade that I don’t like I could retake or try to make it better. As far as me being on time and being organized I think i am doing pretty good I don’t think I have been late to any of my classes. In this quarter I joined one club which is cross-country I didn’t go there a lot of the time but that was my first club in the school. Outside of the school I do gymnastics.

My Favorite Quote

My favorite quotes are gymnastics ones because they really inspire me, but my all time favorite quote is...

"You have to remember that the hard days are what makes you stronger, the bad days make you realize what a good day is, if you never had any bad days you would never have the sense of accomplishment." - Jordyn Wieber

I really like this quote because when I am doing gymnastics and I am having a bad day I always remind myself that if I didn’t have bad days I wouldn’t know what good days really are.

What I Aspire to be 10 Years from Now

10 years from now I see myself finishing college and going to medical school, probably out of the state. Then I would do my residence as a surgeon for 4 years and then maybe even a fellowship for a couple more years. Once I become a surgeon I would go to the military to be a surgeon and help injured soldiers. But I would probably just do that for a year because seeing soldiers get hurt or die and hearing many bombs can cause PTSD or something else like that. Then I would go back home and go to a regular hospital as a trauma surgeon, probably wouldn't have time to have a life outside of the hospital because being a surgeon takes up a lot of time.
